Dr. I'ma Neerackal [Department of Botany]:
Presently she is a research guide. She was awarded with “Young Scientist Award” for the year 2003, at the Kerala Science Congress for her research work on ‘Inter-cropping of Medicinal Plants in Rubber Plantations-Light Requirements and Physiology of Shade Adaptation’. She identified five species of medicinal plants suitable for cultivation under mature rubber plantations which increase the total productivity of the limited land resources and improve the income of our farmers. She led the discussion on cultivation of medicinal plants, at the Samsthana Karshika Mela organised by the Govt. of Kerala, held at Thodupuzha in January 2004. |
