Dr. I'ma Neerackal [Department of Botany]: Presently she is a research guide. She was awarded with “Young Scientist Award” for the year 2003, at the Kerala Science Congress for her research work on ‘Inter-cropping of Medicinal Plants in Rubber Plantations-Light Requirements and Physiology of Shade Adaptation’. She identified five species of medicinal plants suitable for cultivation under mature rubber plantations which increase the total productivity of the limited land resources and improve the income of our farmers. She led the discussion on cultivation of medicinal plants, at the Samsthana Karshika Mela organised by the Govt. of Kerala, held at Thodupuzha in January 2004.

Dr. Sheela Irin Jayanthi J.

  • She was awarded a Minor Research Project for the publication of her doctoral thesis Growth of Communist Movement in Kerala with special reference to the contribution of P. Krishna Pillai.

  • She finished her Post Doctoral Fellowship on Labour Movement in Travancore and has many published articles to her credit. She was awarded the Dr. K.P. Panikkar's Memorial Prize for the Best Dissertation on Kerala History instituted by the University of Kerala. She served as a Research Assistant in connection with a research project of the Indian Council of Historical Research under Dr. K. Rajayyan for the year 1989-90.
