ASSOCIATION & UNION ----- ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATIONS

Staff Association 

It strives to maintain a healthy relationship between the Management and Faculty besides fostering co-operation and good will among staff members. The Staff Association conducts various academic and entertainment programmers for teachers. It takes the lead in organizing inter-collegiate elocution competitions in Malayalam and English, debates, Bible Quiz competition etc.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

It was constituted in 1987 to facilitate the active involvement of parents and teachers in the day to day activities of the college as well as in the developmental activities. PTA provides scholarships for needy students and contributes to the infrastructural developments.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)  

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell, constituted as per UGC specifications, meets regularly to discuss development activities and chalk out future plans to ensure all-round excellence. The Members of the Cell are:

The Retired Teacher's Association of Assumption College [RETAAC]

The Retired Teachers' Association of Assumption was formed on 31 March 2005. It aims at providing a forum for all the retired teachers of the college to meet frequently in the college& take part in the social life of the college. Teachers who retire from this college will automatically become members of this association.

The College Union & Arts Club

It is a union of the students of the college and shall function as a purely academic body. The Executive of the College Union shall consist of the Principal (Patron), Vice Principal (Honorary Treasurer), two staff advisors, the Arts Club director, the President, General Secretary, Arts Club Secretary, Student Editor, two Councilors to the Mahatma Gandhi University Union (elected by all the students of the College) and the representatives of Language, Arts and Science Associations. 

All the students of the College are ipso facto ordinary members of the college union. All through the years the union has been very much alive in cultural competitions and various clubs. One noteworthy feature is that in spite of the prevalence of campus politics all over the state, our union elections and activities are free from the grip of politicians.

Various Departmental Associations 

Each department has a subject association attached to it. These associations ensure the active involvement of all the degree students. They hold seminars, exhibitions, publish manuscript magazines, film festivals and other entertainment programmes. Economics Association has been holding an inter-collegiate debate and paper presentation competition since 1999. Malayalam Association is noted for its Kaviyarangu.

Athletic Association

Sports and games facilities are offered to every student of Assumption who desires to develop her potential abilities and qualities of sportsmanship. The association gives training in Volleyball, Handball, Badminton, Athletics, Cycling, and Yoga. 

The Principal is the ex-officio President and a member of the staff, nominated by the Principal, is the vice-president and Treasurer. Members of the association are not to take up any collection without permission from the Principal.
