“Fashion Meets Culture 2008” -a striking journey into the world of India’s splendid cultural heritage, an exiting culmination of the second year BFT student’s one month intensive research on the life styles, arts and crafts of various parts of India. The program is a documentation of the student’s quest for the stories behind the crafts, arts, and lifestyles of the people of the Gujarat, Karnataka,
Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. The documentation will be followed by vibrant and colourful
Fashion Show.

Assumption College is conducting a National Seminar on “MEDIA AND CULTURE” on 3rd December 2008 under the auspices of the Add-on course in Journalism and Mass Communication in association with St. Joseph College of Communication Kurisummood. Shri Vayalar Ravi, Hon’ble Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs will inaugurate the function at 10.am in the Pope John Paul II Indoor Stadium. Prof. John Sankaramanagalam, Principal SJCC, Chanaganacherry will present a paper on MEDIA AND CULTURE followed by an interactive session. In the afternoon there will be a Symposium on “Transition in the media Culture” by Mr. C P Rajashekaran , Director, Educational FM Channel of IGNOU and thereafter a panel discussion by representatives from the media.
