We are glad to inform that in association with Diamond Jubilee of Assumption College an award is instituted by St. Berchmans and Assumption College Alumni Associations of Chicago (SBACAAC) for The Best Assumption Alumni.
We are happy to inform you that Assumption College is celebrating her Diamond Jubilee this year. We feel this is a time to cherish the fond memories of our staff and students (Alumnae) who have brought laurels to our institution through their mangnificent presence and dedicated service.
AASA has always been a strong source of inspiration for us, and we firmly believe that the whole-hearted co-operation of its members had a major role in winning for us prestigious ‘A’ grade in the Assessment by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in 2007.
While gratefully remembering your support in the past, we earnestly request your involvement in the jubilee activities to be held from August 2009 - August 2010.
Inauguration of the Association of Assumption Alumnae
(AASA) was held on 10th October 2009. President of AASA Ms. Maria Tharakan presided over the function and Very Rev. Msgr. Joseph Kurinjiparampil Vicar general, Archdiocese, Changanacherry Inaugurated the function.
The Annual Meeting of the Alumnae of Assumption College Changanacherry will be held in the College Auditorium at 2.00 p.m on 26th January 2008.

Smt. Elsamma Francis Presided over the function. Very.Rev. Msgr. Joseph Kurinjiparambil inaugurated the function. Prof. Seenath Beevi of IT Dept, Amal Jyothy Engineering College Koovappally give away the Keynote address.Election was held on that day, Ms. Mareena Tharakan and Ms. Valsama Cherian were the new President and vice president respectively.

Our alumna, Geethu Anna Jose , was selected to play for Ringwood Hawks Club, Australia, the first woman basketball player from India, and also the first college student to be selected by a foreign Club. In the three Test matches she played for India against New Zealand she was honoured with five awards.
Ms. Ansa Alphonsa Antony was awarded Ph.D in Reliability Theory (Statistics) by CUSAT in 2006.
Our Alumnus Dr.Maya Jacob presented a lecturer on "Cellular Fiber Reinforced Polymer."
O. P Jaisha won Gold in 5000m Race in the 2006 SAF in COLOMBO.
Ms. Rinchu Paul secured fourth rank Globally(170 countries) with 91% marks in ACCA examination in December 2005.
Muneera Pookunju an alumnus from the Department of Economics agreed to sponsor a scholarship scheme for the best student in the Department of Economics belonging to the Muslim Community. Muneera who finished her graduation in the year 1999 is currently working as a Research Officer in Qatar Central Bank. While at Assumption she was an active member of the Quiz Club and NCC and brought laurels to the College.
Our alumnus from the Department of Zoology - Jovitta Thomas - is currently in Afghanistan on deputation from World Bank and is working on the reconstruction of the war -ravaged nation. Previously she had worked in Bosnia, Kosovo and Palestine for UN. Jovitta was quite an active student here who made herself known in recitation, story writing, model parliament, etc. She was also part of the College Union for a while.
Three of our alumni visited the college and did the inauguration of various associations. Rev. Dr. Rose Kanacherry, Principal of
B.K. College Amalagiri visited her alma matre for the inauguration of Staff Association activities. Dr. Liji Cheriyan, Faculty, Christian College, Chengannur and Asha C. Mathew, research scholar at Sree Chithira Thirunal Institute, Trivandrum inaugurated this year's activities for Chemistry association and Botany association respectively.
Our alumni Jetty C. Joseph received the much coveted recognition in sports instituted by the Kerala government- G. V. Raja Sports Award for the year 2003-04. Jetty was being given the State's top ranking award for winning the silver in the inaugural Asian Indoor athletic meet in Teheran. The award, that carries a cash prize of
Rs. 50,000 and a plaque, would be distributed by the Finance Minister, Vakkom B.
Purushothaman, at a function to be held at Trivandrum on October 13, the 98th birth anniversary of the KSC founder president, the late Col.
G.V. Raja.
